The Edinburgh Ice Company
When first approached by The Edinburgh Ice Company (company name Duck Egg Blue Management Ltd) they were a young start-up company that had very little experience with processing and managing their day to day accounting tasks and their monthly management accounts and compliance with HMRC and governing bodies. The initial task was to setup and configure an accounting system for them. In this case we chose Xero Accounts which gave them the flexibility that they needed and was able to provide the reporting analysis that they needed both monthly and annually.
Once the system had been configured and the data brought into the system the backlog of financial transactions was brought up to date. In addition to this the client needed to VAT register and assistance was given in this process.
Having brought the system up to date the client wished to be able to process most of the transactions on a day to basis. In order to do this the client was provided with training. This training was one to one with the user in their premises.
On an ongoing basis we are able to provide support as required on system or bookkeeping queries and complete monthly payroll and quarterly VAT returns. The accounts are also finalised for passing to the accountant for the year end.

The Edinburgh Remakery
The Edinburgh Remakery is a small social enterprise charity base in Edinburgh. The client initially made contact looking for an individual that was able to act as Finance Manager within the organisation. This role provides both a processing and over seeing of other users also processing within the accounting system. The role also provides advice in finance related matters and produces a set of monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasting. These are made available to the Charity board.
Jenny from Craiglockhart Financial Services has worked as finance manager at The Edinburgh Remakery since 2015. Initially tasked with carrying out payroll and accounts administration, Jenny has applied her experience to our financial systems, setting up cash flow, management accounts and budget systems. Jenny goes over and above to ensure that information is updated in real time, and contributes regularly to financial planning and strategy. Jenny is effective, professional and a responsive freelancer and I would highly recommend her to any SME colleagues.
In addition to that CFS process the monthly payroll and ensure compliance in both RTI and Auto Enrolment. As a charity there is a need to produce the accounts in the correct format for OSCR and these are done in conjunction with the external charity accountant.
Initially the accounts were processed on Sage 50 but were transferred to Xero Accounts at a year end. The payroll is now processed on Xero Payroll.
